“Five young New Yorkers throw their friend a going-away party the night that a monster the size of a skyscraper descends upon the city. Told from the point of view of their video camera, the film is a document of their attempt to survive the most surreal, horrifying event of their lives.”

‘Cloverfield’ hits theaters this Friday, and I couldn’t be more anxious for it’s release. I’ve been doing a bit of research on the film, and have seen some extra bit’s and pieces, of the behind the scene footage of the film on television. Now it has been STRONGLY advised from the film makers, along with employees at the multiplexes across the country, that if you got sick during the Blair With Project while it was originally in theaters, then you should STAY away from this film. As the entire film is all shot from someone participating in the action, so there are plenty of shakes and bumps through out the entire film! Second, a friend of mine that saw an advanced screening of this film, says to keep an open mind, because remember the storys about the people, it has nothing to do with ‘Cloverfield’ what so ever.

What I loved most about the several months of waiting for the release of ‘Cloverfield’ was the way they intended to market this film. The first teaser trailer of the film, which was attacthed to Transformers, had only shown the release date of the film ( 1 – 18 – 08 ), and not the title of the film. A second trailer was then released on November 16, 2007, which had indeed confirmed the title of the film ‘Cloverfield’. What was even better, was that the studio had kept all knowledge of the film secret from the internet community, a very rare occurence due to the amount of “scoopers” that follow upcoming films. The filmmakers, along with the studio had decided to release the information of the film in a controlled manner, such as how the Blair Witch Project, and Snakes on a Plane was handled. Now my FAVORITE part of the entire marketing campaign of ‘Cloverfield’. THE VIRAL MARKETING CAMPAIGN!!! Several puzzle websites containing Lovecraftian elements, such as Ethan Haas Was Right, were originally believed to be connected to the film. On July 9, 2007 producer J. J. Abrams stated that, while a number of websites were being developed to market the film, the only official site that had been found was 1-18-08.com. On that website, you will see a collection of time-coded photos that are provided for the visitors to piece together a series of events and interpret their meanings. Also as part of the viral marketing campaign, the drink Slusho! has served as a tie-in. The drink had previously appeared in producer Abrams’ previous creation, the television series ‘Alias’, staring Jenifer Garner. Viral websites for Slusho!, along with a Japanese drilling company were launched to add to the mythology of Cloverfield. For a little suspense, fans who had registered at the Slusho! website for Cloverfield received e-mails of fictional sonar images prior to the film’s release that showed a deep-sea creature heading toward Manhattan.

So, take a couple Advil, take a deep breath, and prepare to leave reality, belief, and rationale at the door, and enjoy ‘Cloverfield’ in theaters this Friday!!!

I’ve put this topic on Hollywood Ramblings for a reason, and that reason being that this video is very interesting, gives you the facts straight up, and more importantly it will ENTERTAIN you for the entire 1 hour, and 29 min runtime. Now I’ve watched this video on several occasions, and everytime it still boggles my mind, as I just can’t decide if its all true, or just a crazy conspiracy theory! Everything in the documentry seems to be very possible, such as the scene that unfolded at the World Trade Centers in New York, and Flight 93. Now obvisiously, two American Jet liners did indeed crash into both the North, and South tower, but the collaspe of the towers is the very conspicious part of the whole attack.

“There were explosions going off everywhere. I was convinced that there were bombs all over the place and someone was sitting at a control panel pushing detonator buttons. There was another explosion.”
–Teresa Veliz, working on the 47th floor of the
North Tower when Flight 11 hit.

My rant on the World Trade Center Scene:

Now the World Trade Center segment of the documentry is indeed the most compelling to me. It is the one, that I tend to look up information on the most. Durring the WTC segment, there is a scene that is focousing on the collaspe of the World Trade Center. The tower appears to be free falling in a “Controlled Demolition” fashion. As the tower is free falling to the ground, several flashes come from within the tower as the building collaspes. Some belive that bombs were placed in different locations through out the building, but some also belive that those flashes could have been many different things. I tend to agree on both sides of that statement, because many witnesses reported hearing and seeing secondary explosions after the planes hit the towers, and after the collaspe of the towers. Now truth be told those secondary explosions could have been anything, and why wouldn’t there be secondary exlposions after a 767 had just crashed into a building at a high rate of speed? Listed in the “Loose Change 2nd Edition Viewer Guide” the explosions could have been any of the following: (Electrical systems shorting, transformers and switchgear blowing, generators failing, steam pipes bursting, flaming debris, and steel beams falling down elevator shafts, etc.)

Now, what really chaps my behind. The World Trade Centers were built to withstand a 100 year storm, fires, and even the impact of a plane crashing into the tower. People tend to say that the towers collasped because of the intense heat from the burning jet fuel. But in the 1940′s I belive, a B-25 bomber crashed into the 79th floor of the Empire State Building, and burned several floors, for only 40 minutes and to this day the Empire State Building is still standing. So if the WTC was built to survive a 100 year old storm, along with the impact of a plane crash what would be the possible reason for the South tower to collapse after only burning for 47 minutes, along with the North tower coming down in 104 minutes? Ontop of that, why would both towers fall in a “Controlled Demolition” fashion? Unless there was indeed some sort of form of secondary explosion within the towers.

Thats just my little rant on World Trade Center scene of the documentary “Loose Change 2nd Edition”. Feel free to express your opp ions on the “Loose Change” documentary, as well as the scenes themselves, that you might find interesting!

Seattle Seahawks @ Green Bay Packers –

My Prediction – Packers – 28 Seahawks – 13

Jacksonville Jaguars @ New England Patriots –

My Prediction – Patriots – 32 Jaguars – 17

San Deigo Chargers @ Indianapolis Colts –

My Prediction - Colts - 24 Chargers – 7

New York Giants @ Dallas Cowboys –

My Prediction - Giants – 20 Cowboys – 14

My Reasons:

The Packers will win because, Brett Favre is having one of the best seasons in his historic 16 year career. Favre is also hungry for another Lombardi trophy, on top of that this could very well be his last year behind center in the NFL. So I couldn’t think of a better way for Favre to retire, then after hoisting his second Lombardi Trophy, along with breaking numerous all time career records that may never be broken again until Peyton Manning has his shot at them down the road in his career, (Most career passing yards – “61,655“, along with the most career touchdown passes – “442“) which were formerly held by one of the greatest, if not THE greatest Quaterback of all time ‘Dan Marino’.

The Patriots will win without a doubt, because this is one of the greatest teams of all time. There is talent everywhere you look on the field, (Brady, Moss, Stallworth, Welker, Gaffney, the Offensive Line, and most importantly you cannot forget about the Patriots defense. ) This team was built for destiny. They’re the first team to complete an undefeated season, since the 1972 Miami Dolphins. I just don’t think the Jaguars can keep up with the Pats amazing offense. The Jags may keep this game close, and down to the wire but, how many times have we seen Brady bring the Patriots back in the final two minutes of a game for the win this season? A good amount of times, thats for sure! So I’m sorry Jacksonville fans, I just can’t see the Jaguars upsetting the Patriots tonight. BUT the Colts are a different story!

The Colts will win because Peyton Manning is no longer the choke artist he once was in the earlier stages of his career. Manning now has been to the big stage, and won on the big stage, as we all saw that last year in Miami againist the Chicago Bears. Now the Chargers are a very talented team, but I’m not buying into their head coach Norv Turner. From what I remember, Turner has only taken one team to the post season, that team being the 1999 Washington Redskins, which resulted to a loss to the Tampa Bay Bucceners in the Divisional Round. Along with Turner, the Chargers are missing a very valeuble piece to their offense (TE Antonio Gates, dislocated big toe). Now with Harrison returning to the lineup for the Colts, look for him to be used early in the game to give the Colts a nice early lead, that they can cost on through out the game, and onto the Pats next week.

The Giants will win because Tony Romo seems to have not such good luck in the post season, (flashback to Seattle last year, with Romo muffing the attempted extra point) Also T.O. isn’t 100% healthy, even though he may claim he is, he really is maybe about 75% ready to go. With those two faults being said, the Giants seem to be the hottest team in the NFC right now. Along with that, Eli is really starting to mature into a great Quarterback, he is surrounded by a pretty good group of teammates around him. So with that said start looking forward to an NFC Championship game at Lambeau Field!

A video posted on YouTube shows the 15-year-old entertainer as “Hannah” dancing onstage with a group of dancers and the Jonas Brothers, also on the tour. During the song, someone ushers her offstage via a trap door. Immediately, another girl dressed like the character “Hannah” in the same pink trench coat with blonde hair covering her faces dances around, runs up the stage set, and then quickly leaves.

While the double is holding a microphone for her less than a minute, the girl motions like she is singing. However, a rep for Miley said the switch was only for costume purposes.

“To help speed the transition from Hannah to Miley, there is a production element during the performance of ‘We Got the Party’ incorporating a body double for Miley,” according to statement Friday from the public relations firm PMK.

“After Hannah has completed the featured verse on the duet with the Jonas Brothers, a body double appears approximately one to two minutes prior to the end of the song in order to allow Miley to remove the Hannah wig and costume and transform into Miley for her solo set. Other than during this very brief transitional moment in the show, Miley performs live during the entirety of both the Hannah and Miley segments of the concert.”

Miley’s “Hannah Montana” tour is one of the nation’s hottest tours, selling out within minutes when tickets went on sale last fall. Some people have been reselling tickets for thousands of dollars. Miley has released two albums under the “Hannah Montana” brand, both of which have sold more than two million copies.

The “Hannah Montana” is an offshoot of the Walt Disney Co. TV show.

The Fake ‘Hannah Montana’ Concert Video:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=tDYhVzGmKY8

Now with this being my first post, I really want to make a statement with this topic, because I’ve read alot of fourms, on different entertainment websites tonight and I’ve been reading the same question over, and over again. I’m angry because nobody can seem to answer that question correctly on every single one of those fourms!!! Now the question has been asked in many different ways, but in my words the question was “Why would Miley Cyrus use a body double durring a concert that has alot of parents paying a pretty good penney, instead of just having the Jonnas Brothers who were performing alongside Hannah Montana, perform a few songs of their own, while she changes into her Miley Stewart charecter?”

Well I think I have the answer to that question!!!! “Now note, I haven’t watched Hannah Montana, but I looked on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miley_Cyru to get an idea on what it was all about, and it says under her career “Cyrus currently stars in Hannah Montana as the lead character Miley Stewart, whose alter ego is the pop music sensation Hannah Montana. Cyrus also performs in character as Hannah Montana for albums and concerts.”

So I’m just assuming that the whole reason for the double was to make it look like to the children in attendence at the concert that she is performing in her alter ego character “Hannah Montana” for a series of songs, and once those songs are over she is supposed to be “Miley Stewart” for the next set of songs, and with the double performing on stage as Hannah, the real Hannah is behind the door changing into Miley for the upcoming songs, to make it appear to the children that Hannah has amazingly turned back into her charecter Miley Stewart, just as it would appear on the television show. So for the naysayers out there, just get over this whole ordeal, because its a concert made directly for the children, and it is going to be presented in a believable fashion to the children at the concert.”

Thats my two cents on the whole “Hannah Montana double” situation. Feel free to leave comments, as I would love to hear what YOU readers, along with the Hannah Montana fans out there have to say about this situation, and how people are reacting to this situation!!
